SF Airlines has launched a new cargo route between Urumqi in the Xinjiang region of northwestern China and Budapest in Hungary to serve e-commerce, agricultural and speciality product demand.

The route was launched from Urumqi Diwopu International Airport (URC) to Budapest International Airport (BUD) on August 8 using a Boeing widebody 767-300 freighter with a payload of about 50 tons, said the Chinese freighter airline in a press release.

“It is planned to operate 1-2 flights per week, mainly serving cross-border e-commerce express delivery business, the export of Xinjiang’s specialty agricultural products, and the import of specialty products from European countries such as Hungary,” said SF Airlines.

In June, SF Airlines launched an air cargo route linking Ezhou Huahu Airport in central China’s Hubei Province with BUD.

The airline said its parent company, SF Express Group partnered with Xinjiang Commerce and Logistics Group for the launch of the URC-BUD route after partnering to launch a URC to Tbilisi, Georgia route last month.

SF Airlines said it will continue to focus on growing its fleet and network, support SF Express Group in expanding its international logistics supply chain business and support China’s “Belt and Road” initiative.
