DHL Group has now completed the acquisition of Turkish parcel delivery company MNG Kargo and its subsidiaries to boost its European e-commerce business.
The integration of MNG Kargo will proceed under the management of DHL eCommerce, the e-commerce logistics specialist of DHL Group.
DHL said the acquisition will enable customers “to benefit from unique logistics offerings within Turkey as well as cross border through the collaboration of the various DHL divisions already present in Turkey”.
The newly acquired parcel network includes 27 mid-mile sorting centres and over 800 last-mile branches in cities across Turkey.
The e-commerce market in Turkey is expected to see double-digit growth in the coming years – significantly higher than in the EU markets, added DHL.
“MNG Kargo’s expertise in parcel courier services combined with its extensive domestic network will help us to further expand our service offering in Turkey and enhance our strong cross-border European parcel network. In September last year, DHL Supply Chain also acquired a majority stake in Dutch e-commerce specialist Monta.
