SATS-owned Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT) has been selected as the preferred cargo handler for Fly Khiva Group in Hong Kong.

Tashkent, Uzbekistan-based cargo carrier Fly Khiva launched its inaugural flight to Hong Kong on August 2.

The airline has commenced two weekly flights between Hong Kong and Liège via Uzbekistan.

Fly Khiva was launched at the beginning of this year with the aim of developing domestic and international cargo and passenger flights alongside its passenger charter operation and agency services for Azerbaijan Airlines’ flights from Uzbekistan.

Last month, the airline added freighter flights to Liege as part of its services from Asia to Europe via its home hub of Tashkent.

Farkhad Mukhutdinov, commercial director of Fly Khiva Group, stated: “This strategic move underscores Fly Khiva’s commitment to strengthening the connection between Asia and Europe, catering to the booming e-commerce sector, and addressing the increasing demand for efficient cargo solutions through our hub in Tashkent.

“We are delighted to place our Hong Kong cargo handling operations in the capable hands of AAT. We are confident that their efficiency and expertise will enhance our customer experience.”

AAT chief executive Mike Chew said: “We extend our warmest congratulations to Fly Khiva Group on their operations commencement in Hong Kong. We are excited to welcome them to the AAT family and look forward to supporting Fly Khiva’s cargo growth in Hong Kong through our dedication to operational and service excellence.”
