Freight forwarder Scan Global Logistics (SGL) has continued its ongoing expansion with the opening of its first office in Ireland.
The Denmark-headquartered forwarder said the new Dublin office would help strengthen its presence on the transatlantic trade lane.
“Ireland is a key market for us. Its proximity to major trade lanes and position as a Transatlantic gateway within air and ocean transport makes it ideal for supporting our global growth goals,” said Neil Murray, managing director of SGL UK and Ireland.
The office will be headed by Scott Darcy, who will report into Murray.
“Our mission is to uncomplicate our customers’ logistics challenges by delivering efficient, dependable, and forward-thinking solutions,” added Murray.
“Establishing a presence in Ireland enhances our ability to meet customer needs with greater agility locally and globally.”
Following the opening of the new office, SGL is in the process of adding to its team based in Dublin.
The new office comes as the company looks to expand its office network in new locations.
Earlier this year, the company expanded into Italy by acquiring Foppiani Shipping & Logistics and establishing a presence in Saudi Arabia.
Lars Syberg, chief executive of Europe, Middle East and Africa for SGL, added: “This growth reflects our strategic focus on enhancing our capabilities across key markets, allowing us to provide comprehensive, tailored logistics solutions.
“By building a strong presence in Ireland and expanding our regional footprint, we are better positioned to support our customers’ needs and drive long-term growth in the region.”
The company has also added Argentina and Colombia to its network with the opening of new offices in these countries.
And it also recently announced a deal to acquire Bazil-based BLU Logistics.
