AirBridgeCargo, one of the leading all-cargo carriers in the transportation of live animals, has successfully delivered four reindeer from Moscow to Frankfurt.

Four two-year-old animals, weighing around 150 kilograms each, were safely delivered to Wuppertal Zoo in Germany.

Peter Novozhenov, regional director, Russia and CIS, said: “We have transported deer previously, which has its special aspects the carrier needs to be aware of. The whole journey, which has been organized under IATA Live Animal Regulations and customer’s requirements, went smoothly and the animals feel safe and comfortable right now. In 2020 we favoured a significant increase in animals’ transportation meeting the growing demand from the customers and we will keep on sharpening our expertise in this sector to guarantee high-quality service.”

The transportation was completed in partnership with Astra Brokers on behalf Moscow Zoo and Wuppertal Zoo in Germany.

DP World and CPDQ to invest $1.2b in East Java

DP World and its partner Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), have signed a long-term agreement with Maspion Group to start the construction of an international container port and industrial logistics park in Gresik, East Java.

Work on the projects is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2021, with a total investment of up to USD 1.2 billion, enhancing East Java’s position as a key trade gateway for Indonesia.

Under the agreement, a joint venture company will be established between DP World and CDPQ’s global investment platform and Maspion Group, the first of its kind in the Indonesian transportation sector involving a foreign direct investor (FDI) partner and a private sector Indonesian company.

DP World Maspion East Java will become the sole operator of a modern international container port with design capacity of up to three million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU). DP World and CDPQ will also work with Maspion Group to develop an integrated industrial and logistics park, adjacent to the container terminal, with an initial land area of 110 hectares with scope for future expansion. The park will provide world-class trade environment for domestic and international businesses to help drive economic growth and create jobs.

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, said: “The partnership with Maspion Group is an important development in our global ports and logistics network. It also represents an important milestone for our joint platform with DP World with the addition of a first greenfield port to our portfolio of high-quality assets that have demonstrated their resilience over the past year despite important shifts in the global supply chain landscape.”

Intradco Global expands into Toronto and Dubai

Animal air charter specialist Intradco Global has expanded into Canada and the United Arab Emirates, opening offices in Toronto and Dubai.

The move is part of the firm’s ongoing continental plans, as it invests heavily to achieve strategic growth in under-represented territories and develop mutually beneficial, close working relationships with new and existing customers in these regions.

Intradco Global has promoted Tom Lamb, who has worked at the firm’s London office for nearly seven years, to head up its Toronto office as Regional Manager – North America (Live Animal & Cargo Charter).

Joe Street, an air charter specialist who has experience working in both brokerages and airline charter teams, joins the firm as Account Manager to spearhead its new Dubai initiative.

Tom and Joe will work closely with Intradco Global’s London headquarters to grow new networks of local customers and deliver a truly joined-up, tailored personal service, as well as build teams in the new offices as business needs dictate.

Supporting them will be the company’s new operations manager, Erica Resendes, who has vast experience in ground handling process across North American airports.
